Quantification, Benchmarking and Stewardship of Veterinary Antimicrobial Usage
First International Conference
27 - 28 February 2018 @ Ghent
The AACTING consortium looks back at the 'First International Conference on the Quantification, Benchmarking and Stewardship of Veterinary Antimicrobial Usage' with a very satisfied feeling.
The conference aimed at uniting and inspiring people involved in these topics of emerging interest. Indeed, use of antibiotics is the main driver for the development and spread of antimicrobial resistance, increasingly recognized as a major problem in humans and animals. Information on when, by whom, how, why and how much antimicrobials are or have been used is important, as is utilizing this information to reduce the usage without compromising the animal welfare.
With over 140 participants, a great number of relevant, high-quality abstracts submitted and plenty of interesting and inspiring talks, posters and discussions, the conference was an overwhelming success! We would like to thank all participants and the supporting staff from venue 'Het Pand' and Ghent University for making this possible.
